Electrolyte:- It is a chemical compound that dissociates into ions and hence capable of transporting electric charge, unlike metals the flow of charge is not a movement of electrons but is a flow of ions. Electrolytes can be solid , liquid or solutions. Example, molten NaCl, KOH dissolved in water, etc.
