Very simple:

ELECTROLYTIC DECOMPOSITION means breaking in ions when electricity is passed in a solution.

Example:
When we pass electricity in a solution of Na-Cl and water NaCl is broken in ions. Or electrolysis of water is the decomposition of water into oxygen and hydrogen gas due to an electric current being passed through the water.

Given that,

ELECTROLYTIC DECOMPOSITION

We know that,

Electrolytic decomposition:

In which a material is break in to its components by use of electricity it is called the decomposition reaction

These uses are,

(I). This reaction is using in the industries.

In the industries, the preparation of aluminium, sodium, chlorine etc.

The reactions are,

Sodium chloride,

2Nacl\Rightarrow 2Na+Cl_{2}

Aluminium oxide,

2Al_{2}O_{3}\Rightarrow 4Al +3O_{2}

(II). This reaction is used in laminate.

Hence, This is required answer.
