Electronic configuration tells us many things
1) Distribution of elections in different energies level.

2) stability of atom

3) whether the atom is diamagnetic or paramagnetic.

4) valency of an atom

ex :- sodium (Na)

◆ Na =) 2 , 8 ,1

==) last election is "1" which is it's valency

==) All elections are in pair but last one is unpair so it is paramagnetic .
