EDI is format in which 2 different organisation or companies share information & data to each other . They Interchange business information in particular file format without using papers . Those who do such kind of data transfer are called trading partners . It is computer to computer data transfer in describe file format rather than sharing nay information on papers .

Electronic data interchange is a modern day technology used for transferring data from one computer to the other electronically which is more widely adopted these days. Its beneficial because it is a time savior , does not involve paper work , less chances for error and its more reliable. Two entities that share their data through EDI are called Trading partners.
