Answer:

Electroplating is a general name for processes that produce a metal coating on a solid substrate through the reduction of cations of that metal by means of a direct electric current. Pots of metals, bath taps, ornaments, rims of vehicles, handlebar of cycles and motorcycles, kitchen gas burner, bottom of cooking utensils, handles of doors, tin cans, artificial jewellery items are some objects around us that are electroplated. Chromium is used for electroplating due to its characteristics. It is shiny which makes the object attractive after electroplating. It is corrosion and scratch resistant. Thus, it protects the object from corrosion and scratch.
