Metallic elements tend to denote electrons to achieve stable electronic configuration and thus form positive ions. Such a nature of metals is called electropositivity.
For eg.
Al → Al³⁺ + 3e⁻
Mg → Mg²⁺ + 2e⁻
For eg.
Al → Al³⁺ + 3e⁻
Mg → Mg²⁺ + 2e⁻
