The forces between particles that are caused by their electric charges.

Electrostatic forces are non-contact forces; they pull or push on objects without touching them. Rubbing some materials together can result in something called 'charge' being moved from one surface to the other. Charged objects pull on other uncharged objects and may either push or pull on other charged objects.

example #1 === A polyethylene plastic sheet when rubbed to a dry cloth or dry paper will attract some light small bits of of paper, grasses, dust or even crawling ants.

\textbf{Electrostatic force}

The force exerted by an electrified body is called electrostatic force.

This can be explained, the force acquired by a body beacuse of rubbing with any differently charged body.

Example :

When a comb is ruled with hair then it can attract the tiny pieces of paper, here comb is electrically charged.
