What is electrostatic shielding ? . How is this properly used in actual practice ? Is the potential in the cavity of a charged conductor zero ?

Electrostatic shielding is the phenomenon of protecting a certain region of space from external electric field . The electric field inside a conductor is zero. ... No electrostatic potential is constant through out the volume of the conductor and has the same values as on its surface .
