Answer:

Ionic bond, also called electrovalent bond, type of linkage formed from the electrostatic attraction between oppositely charged ions in a chemical compound. Such a bond forms when the valence (outermost) electrons of one atom are transferred permanently to another atom.

Electrovalent Compound :-

The Chemical compounds formed by transfer of electrons from one atom of an element to one atom of another element are call Electrovalent bond.

Conditions for formation of Electrovalent bond:-

___________________________________

⚛ Low ionisation potential :

If ionisation potential potential of perticular atom is low,it will lose electron.

_______________________________

⚛High electron affinity:

If the electron affinity value is high, anion will be formed easily.

Higher the affinity value favours ionic bounding.

______________________________

⚛Larger electronegativity difference :

More the difference in electronegativity more will be the ionic nature of the resulting compound.
