- The embryo of monocot plant has only one cotyledon and that of dicot plant has two cotyledons.
- The apical end of the axis called plumule it gives rise to shoot system.
- Basal end is called radicle it give rise to root system.
- Multicellular structure developed from the zygote is called embryo.
- Embryo is the most important part of a seed.
- The lower terminal cell divides and redivides to form embryo proper.
- Embryo proper form the multicellular embryo.
