Answer:

Endocytosis is a cellular process in which substances are brought into the cell.

The material to be internalized is surrounded by an area of cell membrane, which then buds off inside the cell to form a vesicle containing the ingested material.

Endocytosis includes pinocytosis and phagocytosis.

ENDOCYTOSIS

Endocytosis is a process of osmosis in which materials move into the cell in a bulk or in a group through cell membrane. It is mainly divided into two types :-

1. PHAGOCYTOSIS

It is the process in which the outside solid materials move inside the cell in bulk or we can say that cell engulfs the solid materials outisde it. It is mainly known as "cell eating". Example :- Amoeba engulfing a food.

2. PINOCYTOSIS

It is a process by which cell drinks the outside materials or liquid materials move into cell in a bulk or in a group. It is known as "cell drinking" Example:- Cells in the kidney use pinocytosis to separate nutrients and fluids from the urine.
