Endocytosis is the process by which amoeba takes in the food particle. Amoeba is an unicellular organism where a single cell performs all the functions. Hence by endocytosis, amoeba gets its food. During endocytosis, the outermost membrane of amoeba folds inwards or extends outwards to catch the food particle, hence getting its nutrition.
