Endosmosis: osmosis toward the inside of a cell or vessel.

Exosmosis: osmosis toward the outside of a cell or vessel.

In biology, that means what I have written, but in physics their meanings is different.

Exosmosis:

The process by which water molecules move out of the cell is called exosmosis.

Eg. 1. passage of water from root hair cells to cortical cells of root.

2.Movement of water out from the raisins when placed in a hypertonic solution.

Endosmosis:

The process by which water molecules enter a cell is called endosmosis.

Eg. 1. absorption of capillary water from the soil by the root.

       2. entrance of water in the xylem vessel.
