If I am not mistaken, British and Americans have yet to adopt golgappas or pani puri, as the Indians call it. British have so far openly adopted naan — just a couple of days ago, I stumbled upon a video where the White British YouTuber was showing her shopping hall, and there they were with Nigella seeds on them introduced as Naans — curries (they call them curry just as we do), balti gosht (they call it balti), chicken tikka (they call it tikka), chapati (they either call it flat bread or chapati). If pani puri or golgappas ever become mainstream in Britain or U.S, the chances are high that they will retain the original name. So far, if I am not mistaken, they do not call them anything as the food item has yet to find acceptance amongst white people.
Hope it helps
