Enterocoelom is a process by which some animal embryos develop. In enterocoely, a mesoderm (middle layer) is formed in a developing embryo, in which the coelom forms from pouches "pinched" off of the digestive tract.

i) It is a type of eucoelomate type of cavity of body.
ii) In such cavity called as Enterocoelom, we can see mesoderm arising from the gut of embryonic's wall. They arise in the form of outgrowths or as pouches.
In the kingdom of animals, such type of body cavity named Enterocoelom is found in the phyla - Echinoderms as well as Chordates.
