The surroundings or conditions prevailing around us is what we refer to as the environment. People, animals and plants all have environments around them. Normally, the natural surroundings and conditions make up the environment.
Environmental pollution happens when undesirable elements affect the environment in an adverse manner. Pollutants are substances which have harmful or poisonous effects on the environment.
Environmental pollution causes impairment to normal processes of growth or survival. Sometimes, some forms of life even become extinct due to pollution.
Among pollutants, excess release of undesirable gases,chemical and biological wastes etc. cause maximum harm to the environment.
