Environmental pollution is defined as "the contamination of the physical and biological components of the earth/atmosphere system to such an extent that normal environmental processes are adversely affected."

For example; high amount of poisonous gases in environment such as as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide polluted the environment.

Another e.g, is that: organic and inorganic industrial wastes that are dumped into water bodies, pollutes the water.
