epididymis is an elongated organ on the posterior surface of the testis that stores sperm while they mature and constitutes the convulated beginning of the vast deferens ....

Actually, epididymis is an elongated and flattened structure present on the lateral side of the testis. It is involved in the storage(stores sperms from 18 hours to a few day), nutrition and functionally maturation of the sperms.
