Epithelial tissue is the simplest animal tissue . Intercellular space are nearly absent . The cells are tightly held together by various types of junctions . It is of 4 types :

1. Squamous epithelium

2.Cuboidal epithelium

3 Ciliated Columnar Epithelium

Epithelial Tissue :

Epithelial Tissues are highly packed cells and formed continuous sheet.They form the layer of skin ,lining of mouth ,lining of blood vessels , lungs , kidneys etc..

Types of Epithelial Tissue :

Simple Squamous Epithelial : -

It is present as a selective perneable layer and is flat in nature.They are present in food pipes.They also make skin tissue where they are present in different layers to prevent any wear and tear.

Columnar Epithelial : -

They are present where function of absorption and secretion that is lining of the intestine. They also have hair like structure called as Celia in them. The Celia moves and pushes the food or other material.

Cuboidal Epithelial : -

They provide mechanical support in salivary glands and in the linings of kidney tubules..
