Epithelial Tissue is a thin, protective continuous sheet of cells.

Location:-

It covers a surface of the body and lines of the various body cavities and internal organs including the blood vessels. Examples: The outermost layer of skin and the lining surfaces of the mouth, nose, lungs, stomach, etc.

Shape:-

Epithelial cells may be flat, cuboidal or columnar in shape.

Function:-

The epithelial tissue functions for the protection as a skin, absorption and secretion as in intestine, sensory perception, etc.

Epithelial cells join to perform a common function and form a part of epithelial tissue.

Types of Epithelial tissues:-

➯ Cuboidal Epithelium

➯ Columnar Epithelium

➯ Stratified Epithelium
