Given :

➳ Two identical resistors of resistance 4Ω and 6Ω are connected in parallel.

To Find :

⟶ Eq. resistance of the combination.

SoluTion :

➠ Potential difference across each resistor remains same in parallel connection.

➠ Equivalent resistance of parallel connection by

\bigstar\:\underline{\boxed{\bf{\dfrac{1}{R_p}=\dfrac{1}{R_1}+\dfrac{1}{R_2}+...+\dfrac{1}{R_n}}}}

⇒ 1/Req = 1/R_1 + 1/R_2

⇒ 1/Req = 1/4 + 1/6

⇒ 1/Req = (6 + 4) / 24

⇒ 1/Req = 10/24

⇒ Req = 24/10

Req = 2.4Ω

➝ Current flow through each resistor remains same in series connection.

➝ Equivalent resistance of series connection is given by

\bigstar\:\boxed{\bf{R_s=R_1+R_2+...+R_n}}
