I assume you want to learn about errors in measurement.

See when we measure something, there is always a limit to how accurately we can know the value.

Imagine measuring your height. You may say you are 175 cm tall. Well does that mean you are 175.000000000000000000000000 cm tall?

Well NO!

So how tall are you?

We can not tell, we can hope to know the the value with better precision (more digits), like 175.3 cm if we use meter scale. Or 175.35 if we use some other device. Or 175.34832425625245262535215153 cm if suppose we get really serious and measure you height with a electron microscope! But we will have to stop somewhere (wavelength of electron!)

So what I am saying is there is always some error in measurement because we just can't be sure.

we report you height as 175.3 +-0.1 cm

here +-0.1 shows we are not so sure about that 3 after decimal place, it could have been 4 or 2.

Now there are other errors.

Like imagine your scale is a little worn off, or starts with 1 instead of 0, or is a little bent.

These come under systematic error. They always occur in one direction.

Or maybe you hair acts weird everytime you measure your height, or maybe the person measuring you is taller so he measures it wrong (parralax). And then smaller person measuring you only introduces error.

OR maybe the environment just changed a little.

These are called random errors. Mostly out of your control.

And then there are blunders. Just pure mistakes. Like measuring in cm and writing meters in front of it.

And mind you, that failed billion dollars worth of NASA's mission to mars, so don't feel so bad if you introduce some error. Just try to be cautious. ;)

\huge\bold\red{Hello}

An error is something you have done which is considered to be incorrect or wrong, or which should not have been done. Type of error - : There are three types of error: syntax errors, logical errors and run-time errors. (Logical errors are also called semantic errors).

There are three types of error: syntax errors, logical errors and run-time errors. (Logical errors are also called semantic errors). We discussed syntax errors in our note on data type errors. Generally errors are classified into three types: systematic errors, random errors and blunders.
