What is estate? Why estate general left the meeting of estate general?

Answer:

France is divided into there estates , they are as follows-:

*First estate*- it comprises of church and the clergy. They enjoyed certain privileges by birth. They were exempted from paying taxes.

*Second estate* - it comprises of nobles and other rich members of the society. They were also exempted from paying taxes. They also enjoyed feudal privileges by birth.

*Third estate*- 90% of the population comprises of peasants. They all were in the third estate. They work in the field of their landlords as well as in their homes and also serve in army. They were forced to give all direct and indirect taxes.
