Esterification is a chemical reaction that forms at least one ester (= a type of compound produced by reaction between acids and alcohols). Estersare produced when acids are heated with alcohols in a process calledesterification. An ester can be made by an esterification reaction of a carboxylic acid and an alcohol.

It is a reaction between ethanol and ethanoic acid to get products as ester which has a fruity smell. this reaction mainly used for making perfumes.

saponification
it is a reaction in which ester is converted into alcohol and sodium salt of carboxylic acid. It is mainly used to make soap
