C2H5OH + CH3COOH = CH3COOC2H5

Alcohol + carboxylic = Ester

a chemical reaction in which Ester react with NaOH to produce soap and alcohol this reaction is called saponification reaction

CH3COONa + C2H5OH

Ester + NaOH = soap + alcohol
