esterification reaction is a reaction between alcohol and carboxylic acid to form ester in the presence of acid (H2SO4). sulphuric acid acts as a dehydrating agent and removes water from the alcohol as a seperate product and the remaining combination forms a ester namely (Ethyl Ethanoate). this product is has very pleasent smell and hence used as main ingredient in perfume.
