eutrophication is an effect of wide use of fertilizers and pesticides. being lighter in weight they are easily carried by agents of gradation.
it flows with canal water and reaches a water body. methanogens grow on its surface by getting nutrition from the fertilizers.
thus the top layer of water gets covered leading to the death of marine animals due to insufficient oxygen. finally it becomes unfit for human consumption
