 Eutrophication is almost always induced by the discharge of phosphate-containing detergents, fertilizers, or sewage, into an aquatic system.

Eutrophication is characterized by excessive plant and algal growth due to the increased availability of one or more limiting growth factors needed for photosynthesis , such as sunlight, carbon dioxide, and nutrient fertilizers.

the alage grow in water making water covered which causes less oxygen  to enter  into water as these plants absorb more oxygen and  marine animals die...
