what is evaporation explain the factors affect evaporation
Answers
Answer:
when water turn into gas it is referred as evaporation.
Explanation:
Many factors affect evaporation:
Temperature.
Surface area of the liquid exposed to the atmosphere.
Wind speed and.
Humidity.
Answer:
EVAPORATION:
Explanation:
We know that the particle of matter are always moving and are never at rest. At a given temperature in any gas, liquid or solid, there are particles with different amounts of kinetic energy. in case of liquids, a small faction of particles at the surface ,having higher kinetic energy,is able to break away from the force of attraction of other particles and get converted into vapour . This phenomenon of change of liquid into vapour at any temperature below its boiling point is called evaporation.
Factors that affect evaporation:
- an increase of surface of area : we know that evaporation is a surface phenomenon . If the surface area increased, the rate of evaporation increases.
2. an increase of temperature : with the increase of temperature, more number of particles get enough kinetic energy to go the vapour state.
3. a decrease in humidity: humidity is a amount of water vapour present in air. If the humidity is high so the air cannot hold more water so the evaporation is decreases. 4. an increase in wind speed : it is the common observation that the clothes dries faster on a windy day. With the increase in wind speed, the particles of water vapour move away the wind and evaporation increases.
