The process is referred to as vacuum evaporation. In this process, the pressure of a liquid is lowered below that of the vapor pressure of the liquid in question. the result of this is that the liquid will evaporate at a lower temperature than it usually does due to the difference in pressure created with its normal vapor pressure.
