Exam are to assest the student or learner to evaluate their performance in any field .
In my point of view exams are very important to us ....
They are compulsory ....
Eg , If you go for having a licence then you have to give an exam , ( this is to check that you are able for that or not ) .....
One of the users tell me that exam is the mirror which shows us our progress .

We need exams to be good , better , best .
For having perfection in any field .
