To join the administrative services, one has to appear for the examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, or UPSC. A District Collector or District Magistrate is one such rank in the hierarchy of the Administrative Services. One must prepare oneself well and undertake the training sincerely, on selection, to become prepared for the administrative tasks given assigned to him/her.
