Answer:

Exothermic Reaction:

A chemical reaction in which heat is given outside is called an exothermic reaction.

Eg. When we eat food, then a reaction takes place inside our body which gives heat energy and that heat energy gives energy to us, and hence we do work.

Endothermic Reaction:

A reaction in which the temprature of the product is lower as compared to the reactants is called an endothermic reation.

Eg. Take common salt and a glass of water, mix both and feel the temperature of the mixture. You'll see that the product is cooler than reactants.

\rm Water: H_2O\\ \\ \rm Common Salt: NaCl

Note: Endothermic reation is the opposite reaction of an exothermic reaction and vice-versa

Hello Dost ☺

Answer :

Exothermic reaction and endothermic reaction:

On the basis of energy changes during chemical reaction, they can be classified as

i) Exothermic reaction: A chemical reaction in which heat energy is produced.

Eg : C + O2  CO2 (g) + heat

ii) Endothermic reaction: A chemical reaction in which heat energy is absorbed.

Eg : CaCO3 + Heat  CaO + CO2

Thanks ☺
