Extra Information :-

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • Fallopian tubes are also known as "Oviducts" or "Uterine tubes".
  • Each Fallopian tube is about 10 to 12 cm in length.
  • The Fallopian tubes extend themselves from the periphery of each ovary to the uterus.
  • The Fallopian tubes are lined with "Ciliated epithelial".
  • The cilia of the vitiated epithelium in the Fallopian tubes, remain bent towards the uterus.
  • "Ostium" is the aperture present in the funnel-shaped part, close to the ovary, called the "Infundibulum".
  • The edges of the "Infundibulum" are provided with finger-like projections called "Fimbriae".
  • The "Fimbriae" help in the collection of the ovum after "Ovulation".
  • The Infundibulum leads to a wider part of the Fallopian tube, called "Ampulla".
  • The narrow part of the Fallopian tube are known as "Isthmus".
  • The "Isthmus" opens to a strong, muscular sac called "Uterus".
  • The embryo gets developed upto the "Blastocyst" stage inside the Fallopian tube.
