farm fragmentation means division of farm. For example - suppose a farmer has 2 acre farm is present which yields 1000kgs per year. he ha two sons but when it is inherited then the 2 acre land becomes 1 acre. And one of the son may not let the land to be used for farming which means loss in agricultural product.

Farm fragmentaion is division of a large peice of farmland into smaller pieces. This takes place in case of land being divided among many legal heirs as it passes from one generation to the other. ... It severely affects agriculture as the mechanisation cannot be carried out on small fragmented piece of land.

hope it will help you ✌️
