It was started in 1965 with its Initially headquartered at Chennai. Later this was moved to New Delhi. It also has regional centers in the capitals of the states. Important regions of the state also serve as district centers.

Food Corporation of India will be conducting FCI 2019 Exam to recruit eligible candidates to the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil), Assistant Grade II, Assistant Grade III and Typist. Selected candidates can be placed at any one of the many branches of FCI located all across the country. FCI Notification 2019 has been finally released by the Food Corporation of India through which the required details of the eligibility criteria for the exam, exam dates and syllabus has been announced.
