Fermentation is a metabolic process which occur in the absence of oxygen via bacteria or yeast which is a kind of fungus using sugar (or carbohydrate).

▪It occurs in yeast and bacteria

▪It produces acidity in the substance

▪Uses sugary substances

▪Products are gases( like co2) organic acid or alcohol

▪its study is called as zymology




For examples -it is used to make bevarages (alcoholic-beer,whines,etc),yogurt, etc.
