First aid literally means first help

It consists of a set of rule which should be known by all the people as no one knows when it is needed

so first aid is the first treatment given to a person after injury

eg: first aid for burns

  • remove the burnt area from the flame
  • if possible pour water over it so that the water absorps all the heat from the burnt area
