Fluid friction is the force that resists motion either within the fluid itself or another medium moving through the fluid.

Fluid friction depend on an object speed with respect to the fluid . The fluid friction also depends on the shape of the object and the nature of the fluid.

FLUID FRICTION

Explanation:

  1. Fluid friction occurs between fluid layers that are moving relative to each  other .This internal resistance to flow is named viscosity or viscous drag or fluid friction .
  2. In normal terms the viscosity of a fluid is described as its thickness of the fluid.
  3. Thus water is thin having a lower viscosity while  honey is thick having a higher viscosity .
  4. The less viscous the fluid  the greater its ease of deformation or movement .
  5. All real fluid offer some resistance to shearing and therefore are viscous .
  6. The movement of molecules is governed by two types of force which are present between the molecules of the substance  itself and between the substance and the other material in contact .
