Foliation the process of being split into thin sheets or laminae.
Lineation's in structural geology are linear structural features within rocks.

Both foliation and lineation's features of deformation in rocks. Lineation's however are indicatives of the presence of foliation but lineation is a planar structure measured in therms of dip and strike, meanwhile libations are measured in terms of plunge and direction.
