Answer:

A foramen ovule is a hold in the heart that didn't close way it should after birth. During fetal development,a small flap like opening_ the foramen ovale is normally present in the wall between the right and left uppers chambers of the heart.

An atrial septal defect is a birth defect of the heart in which there is a hold in the wall (Septum) that divides the upper chambers { atrial} of the heart. A hold can vary in size and may close on its own or may require surgery. An atrial septal defect is one type of congenital heart defect.
