When we release an object from a height, it falls over the ground because of gravitational attraction of earth. PRESSURE. The force acting per unit area of a surface is called pressure or we can say force per unit area is called pressure. Pressure = Force / Area.

Force:

Force is a push or a pull that changes or tends to change the State of rest or uniform motion of an object or changes the direction or shape of an object. it causes objects to accelerate. Sl unit is Newton.

For the examples:

  • Electric force
  • Nuclear force
  • Magnetic force

Pressure:

Pressure is the force applied perpendicular to the surface of an object per unit area over which that force is distributed.

For the examples:

  • Sucking a drink through a straw fluid flows because of pressure difference.

  • Aircraft fly because of the air pressure on the wings.

  • Air pressure in car tire supports the weight of the car
