What is Force?

Force is that cause which produces acceleration in the body on which it acts.

The SI unit of force is called Newton and its symbol is N.

Apart from accelerating an object, the ship of the object can also be changed by applying forces. Therefore, we can say that a force on a set of force acting on a body can do three things ;

(a) A force or a set of forces can change the speed of a body.

(b) A force or is it of forces can change the direction of motion of a body.

(c) A seat of forces can change the shape of a body.

There are many types of force ;

▪️Balanced Force

▪️Unbalanced Force

▪️Resultant Force

▪️Contact Force

▪️Spring Force

\huge\mathfrak{Question}

What is force..??

\huge\mathfrak\red{Answer :}

Force is push or pull.

OR

Force is also described as product of mass and acceleration due to gravity.

i.e.

\textbf{Formula :}

F = m × a

\textbf{Symbol :}

It is denotes as F (Force)

\textbf{Changes occurs due to force are :}

→ Because of force shape of the body or object.

→ Force changes the shape of the body or object.

→ It changes the position of the body or object.

→ It changes the direction of the body or object.

\textbf{S.I. Unit :}

As we know that F = ma

S.I. unit of mass (m) = kg

S.I. unit of acceleration (a) = ms-²

So,

S.I. unit of F (force) = kg ms-² or N

\textbf{Dimensions :}

Dimension of Mass (m) = [M¹]

Dimension of Acceleration due to gravity (a) = [L¹T-²]

So,

Dimension of Force (f) = [M¹] [L¹T-²]

= [M¹L¹T-²]

\textbf{Quantity :}

It is a vector quantity as it has both magnitude as well as direction.

\textbf{Types :}

It is of two types...

1) Contact force.

2) Non - Contact force.

* Contact force - friction, tension, spring, touch etc.

* Non - Contact force - gravity, electrical force, magnetism etc.

\textbf{Example :}

When we press a balloon or spong it changes its shape because of force...
