Force

  • In physics, a force is an effect that can alter an object's motion.
  • An object having mass can change its velocity, or accelerate, due to force.
  • A push or a pull is another way to consider for understanding force.
  • Objects accelerate due to the force.
  • A force is a vector quantity since it has both magnitude and direction.

The following effects on a body can be caused by force:

  1. Change the moving body's direction.
  2. Move an object from its resting position.
