Force is that cause which either changes or tends to change the shape, size, dimensions, state of rest, state of motion etc. of an object over which it acts. The SI unit of force is newton, denoted by N . The forces are mainly divided on the basis of when it acts. The types of forces are given below : -

1. Contact Forces

The forces that are applicable only when the objects under consideration are in actual physical contact with each other are called contact forces. Examples: Frictional Force, Muscular Force, Force of Tension, etc.

2. Non-contact Forces

The forces that are applicable even if the objects under consideration are not in actual physical contact are named non-contact forces. Examples: Gravitational Force, Electrostatic Force, Magnetic Force, etc.

here is your answer OK dude

Force is a concept within Newtonian Physics that unfortunately had another meaning in Newton's time and is still assumed to have that other meaning in common phrases such as 'the force of the hurricane' or 'the force of the earthquake.' These phrases had confused me for a time until I happen to have read a number of old books in which the word force was commonly used for something like today's concept of energy. But Newton didn't use the word in that sense.

A force is a current of momentum, it's momentum flowing from body to body. When a body gives a certain number of "Galieos" of momentum (there is no name for the unit of momentum) per second, that's a force.

Since momentum is conserved, the other body gives an equal number of Galileos per second back to the first. This is Newton's third law.
