A force is a push or a pull exerted on an object. They are of two types:

Contact force: A force in which there is actual contact between the agent and the object. Example: muscular force, frictional force, normal force of reaction

Non contact force: A force in which there is no actual contact between the agent and the object. Example: gravitational force, magnetic force, electrostatic force.

I hope I helped :)

Answer:

Explanation:

Force is anything which intend to change the velocity of any object.

But this definition may not have much theoretical significance, so in more concise way way define it as

rate of change of linear momentum

F=dp/dt ( F=ma)

  1. Gravitational - the force mass exerts on other mass; example: the Sun keeping the Earth in orbit, by “lassoing” the Earth and keeping it “tethered” to the Sun.
  2. Electromagnetic - two forces here, Electrical and Magnetic force, or the forces exerted by charges on one another statically (electric) or in motion (magnetic); example: a magnet sticking onto the refidgerator door.
  3. Nuclear Strong - the attractive forces between neighboring atomic particles; ie, the force holding two protons together, or a proton and neutron, despite being the same charge (electrical forces want to tear the nucleus apart, but nuclear forces keep it together).
  4. Nuclear Weak - to be completely honest, not sure what the difference is between Nuclear Strong and Nuclear Weak forces are, but my high school physics teacher taught that, in the grand scheme of things, Nuclear Weak forces do more to keep an atom together than Nuclear Strong forces do.
