A force (push or pull) has a turning effect on a body which is not free to move in a straight line but pivoted at a point about which it can turn.

Pressure is the force per unit area. This means that the pressure a solid object exerts on another solid surface is its weight in newtons divided by its area in square metres.

The turning effect of a force on a body depends on the magnitude of force applied and the perpendicular distance of the force from the pivoted point.

Answer:

the push or the pull which tends to move the object in a particular direction is called force

the turning effect if force is called torque

when force is applied away from the pivot it tends to rotate the object which is known as torque
