What is foregrounding? what are the devices used to foreground poetry? give examples which are different from those in the units?

Foregrounding, in poetry is a way to make it stand out from ordinary writing. Foregrounding is when you manipulate words or sentences to be put in such a way that may seem to be grammatically incorrect but it attracts attention.

Foregrounding is the mother of literature ans it sets apart literature from the norms of the ordinary language.

There are two kinds of foregrounding -

Parallelism is the repetition of a sound, word, idea etc. For instance, “I kissed thee ere, I killed thee...” —Othello, Shakespeare.
Deviation is to deviate from the said norm of the language. Example - “Ten thousands saw I at a glance.” -Wordsworth shows how he deviated from the norms of english language to create a sentence that is different and yet attractive.
