foreign policy can be defined as a set of principles, decisions, and methods which a nation adopts for securing it's national interests in relation with other nations.
it guides and directs the path of the nation in the sphere of international realations.


And when it comes to India, it has been an active participant in interactions relations. India is today being perceived as the rising future super power. it's economy has been rapidly developing. it has been developing as a big military power with nuclear capability. India and Indians are being increasingly respected for their abilities and achievements in almost all spheres of human life. in the near future, India is destined to become a permanent member of the UN security council. Indian foreign policy has been successfully guiding the process of developing all round cooperative and friendly relations with all countries of the world. it has been enabling us to secure both goals of our national interests as well as the international objectives of peace, progress, and sustainable development.

foreign policy of India has been in operation since her independence in 1947. it was initially formulated and put into Operation by PM Jawaharlal Nehru and his government. from time to time changes have been incorporated in the internal and external environments. these all together touched to make India visible as a super power in the future.

India's foreign policy has always been of Non-Alignment inclined towards being a soft-power. Most of the time India abstains itself from taking direct part in conflicts of 2 countries but helps them by providing humanitarian aid. We rarely follow aggressive foreign policy & thus avoid to initiate an issue.
