A large area of land covered with trees,or thick woods is known as forests.Forests are important bcz of a number of reasons.They provide shelter to wild animals,birds and insects.The tress bind the soil with their roots and prevent soil erosion.Forests help in causing rainfall.They check floods by holding water in the subsoil.They purify the air by absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen.They provide the country with forests products such as timber,lac,resins and so on.
